Neace Lukens Partner Named a 2010 Power Broker and Responsibility Leader

(Southfield, MI) March 3, 2010 – Risk & Insurance magazine has named Maureen Gallagher, a partner in the Southfield office for Neace Lukens, the 28th largest insurance broker in the U.S.*, to its select Power BrokerTM list for 2010 in the “Workers Compensation” category. Gallagher was also selected for one of Risk & Insurance magazine’s most prestigious designations, Responsibility Leader TM, which is awarded to only 10 insurance executives nationwide.

Winners of both honors were announced recently in the February issue of Risk & Insurance magazine, one of the insurance industry’s leading trade publications. According to Cyril Tuohy, managing editor for Risk & Insurance, the Power Broker competition began five years ago as “a way for commercial insurance buyers to get a sense of which insurance brokers they could rely on to help them structure their insurance program and as a device to flat out give credit where credit is due.”

The Power Broker award recognizes nominees’ abilities in customer service and depth of industry knowledge. It also looks at successes earned in the past 12 months. An important part of the judging process includes testimonials from clients on how a broker “solved difficult problems with an innovative and exceptional solution.” In her award, Gallagher was cited for her “extensive training

[which] helped her create a seamless arrangement between the efforts of her team and her clients’ teams to better manage their workers compensation programs.”

Gallagher was also selected as one of the 10 Responsibility Leaders in 2010. For the Responsibility Leader designation, a panel of judges reviewed the applications of the Power Broker winners to identify the top candidates who best exemplify the following attributes: going above and beyond the call of duty in a way that benefits their clients, company and community; doing the right thing over the easy thing; and encouraging young people to consider brokerage and insurance as a career.
